Athlete, Incontinence, Leaking, Pressure Management
Leaking with exercise is so common it has been normalized. But it is NOT normal. Up to 80% of female athletes report episodes of incontinence during activity. To combat this problem, women may unhealthily restrict water intake, decrease activity or avoid athletic activity altogether. To keep our clients active, we need to address the root cause of the leakage. This session will highlight the roles the diaphragm, multifidus, pelvic floor muscles, transversus abdominis, and glottis play in pressure management and provide dynamic strategies to manage dysfunction in the active population.Expand summary
